We Did Our Very Best

At first, I believed it would've been tough for the entire group to be able to complete and present an entire presentation all in the span of a week or two as courtesy of being the first group out of four assigned groups in total. But as we gradually got altogether, we made sure that every single group member was able to receive a topic to work on and create their own respective parts to present under their own names.
In the midst of figuring out who would accomplish and fulfill the task in choosing a chapter and their respective units to work on, new faces joined our class, which resulted in a new member joining the group while another member was dropped out of both the group and the class. With many of the decisions having already been thought out, a member kindly offered to share her part of completing the second chapter with her. This splitting of the work aided in both of them benefitting in the end, as they were able to present their works without having to overly stress timewise about other endeavors.
To cope with my own stresses of working on the project, I found a means of satisfaction through listening to the works of my favorite artists, BTS (방탄소년단). I found songs such as 'Pied Piper' and the entirety of J-Hope's extended play 'Hope On The Street' to help me calm down my nerves in times of stressing out.
Hearing music with some pleasant tones is a calming method of not only helping me stay relaxed but it also allows me to stay focused with my responsibilities for the part I hold in creating the first half of Chapter 3. Mainly I used songs that have meaningful lyrics and messages to the writing.
'Pied Piper' is a song that motivates people into finding a perfect balance between their interests with their responsibilities in life.
Other songs I included in my playlist include:
- '134340', which describes the feeling of becoming seen as irrelevant while allegorizing the dwarf planet Pluto losing its official status as a planet and being relegated to designation number 134340.
- 'Coffee', a soothing melody that gives a warm feeling of staying in a relaxed environment sipping a nice warm cup of coffee to help keep you energized for the day.
- 'Fly To My Room', a pandemic-era song about finding freedom in a world of loneliness through a sense of active imagination and hope that times won't feel so lonely forever.
- 'Love Maze', a song that places love as like being trapped inside of an endless maze.
I will confess that it was a bit tough to be granted the responsibilities of group leader since I was a bit scared that no one would genuinely take the project seriously. But since I didn't want anyone to be worried about taking up the responsibility, I took immediate action and accepted the request to act as the group leader for Group 1.
The primary issue I took with the presentation from the moment we presented it was that everyone would consume too much time discussing their respective parts, which the professor pointed out when it was my turn to present my part. The next class, I made sure that Darshan and Adriana were quick to their feet to present their parts, yet at the same time trying not to rationalize all of their slides too quickly. Thankfully, everything turned out completely smooth in the end.
There's no go without mentioning the efforts provided by all the other groups who've presented their projects. They've all managed to capture their respective chapters concurrently and provide insight into other elements to providing effective and inspirational speeches.
Group 2: While Group 2 may have fallen a bit short from the beginning to to a brief problem involving their setup of their project, they still presented a fine presentation regarding how to brainstorm and get across your general ideas and purpose for presenting a speech. They've also provided an idea for how to properly present yourself to the audience as you present your speech.
Group 3: Brilliant demonstration on how the power of creating an effective speech and the power that the language of speaking plays upon the listeners. The important aspects of listening to a speech are to provide powerful words that grab onto the listener's attention to ensure full understandable listening without any hinderances to effective listening.
Group 4: Group 4 provided a great insight into the different kinds of presentations people may present to their audiences. The most common ones I find are the informative and practical persuasive speeches, for they send messages that are meant with the purpose of informing or persuading their audiences about a particular topic.
Although there was a lot of pressure placed upon us as the first group, we managed to persevere and do our very best to bestow upon our class an informative and well-put together presentation about speech anxiety and what it takes to be the most effective listener and speaker when it comes to overcoming distractions and nervousness respectively. To top off the ending, I thought it would be a cute idea to add a little picture of Miniteez at the very last slide of the presentation. It's always a good idea to add a cute little picture at the ending slide to lighten up the mood.
For my part of the project, I decided on displaying all the material I covered in my own words rather than the ones used in the original workbook. That way I wouldn't just cheat my way by blatantly copying and plagiarizing the notes that were given to us as the focal work needed to make the presentations with. As quickly as I had to do so, I was able to explain each and every part at a quick yet patient form of pace so that the professor and everyone else could understand what I was discussing without being so overly rushed about it.
Overall, this project was an interesting and not so complicated as I'd initially thought, and I honestly believe that we all did the very best we could.
Really good!
